Local dental providers offer NHS urgent dental clinics across Cheshire and Merseyside, with urgent appointments for patients who need urgent treatment, advice and support on dental queries or referral to other services.

The service is provided according to strict clinical criteri

a and when you call you'll be assessed by a member of our clinical team to make sure your problem come under either:

  • Trauma - this is usually caused by a blow to the face, a lost filling is not classed as a trauma.
  • Swelling of the face
  • Bleeding, uncontrolled, such as after an extraction
  • Pain that can't be controlled by pain relief medicines.

If you're given an appointment and your problem doesn't fit of the above, you'll still have to pay the NHS fee but may receive advice and not treatment.

Clinic times vary.and at busy times or when your local clinic's not available you may be offered an appointment at an alternative location.

New Patient Registrationregister_now

To register with Garswood Surgery, please call into the surgery and collect a GMS1 Registration form and a New Patient Health Questionnaire for each person registering. Then complete these forms and hand them back to the receptionist.

If you would like to join the practice you should ideally bring your medical card with you when you come to register, however, if this is unavailable we can give you a form to complete. Registration is easy and takes only a couple of minutes.

Please note, it is not necessary for every member of a household to complete forms individually. Any adult member of the family can register any other family member and sign the registration applications on their behalf.

*Please note that we are unable to provide newly registered patient with an urgent appointment until at least 48 hours after their registration has been accepted.*

We will register your details on our clinical database you will receive a letter from Central Operations confirming your registration has been accepted. We will request your medical records from your previous GP surgery at this point, but these can take up to 6 weeks to arrive at the surgery. If you take any regular medication, please bring in your repeat order slip in with your registration form as confirmation of your medication, and these will be added to your clinical record. Please note that the GP may wish to see you prior to your medication being issued.

As a patient you have the right to express preference as to whom you wish to see, however, if you require an appointment and your preferred GP is not available you will be offered an appointment with another doctor. If you still wish to see your preferred GP you may have to wait longer.
